- A Common Man Looks at the War on Islamic Terror -

Freedom and fear are at war.
The advance of human freedom the great achievement of
our time, and the great hope of every time now depends on us.

Our nation this generation will
lift a dark threat of violence
from our people and our future.
We will rally the world to
this cause by our efforts,
by our courage.
We will not tire,
we will not falter,
we will not fail. George Bush 9/20/2001

What the enemy believes
We are not fighting so
that you will offer us
something.
We are fighting
to eliminate you.
Hussein Massawi,
a former Hezbollah leader.

hehe... DE-CONSTRUCTING HYSTERICAL LIBERALS AT "THE NEWS BLOG"
These guys are too much. They are really really upset with Dick Durbin for his non apology but as always Rove is the center of all evil. muahahaha...lets take a look at "Reality Based Liberals" in action.

Probably good at this point to put Karl "Center of all Evil's" Rove quotes at the top of this piece as published by the ever...err almost always...well...sometimes accurate NYT. This has got all the liberals all in a tizzy.

"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," and this "I don't know about you, but moderation and restraint is not what I felt when I watched the twin towers crumble to the ground, a side of the Pentagon destroyed, and almost 3,000 of our fellow citizens perish in flames and rubble."

Soooo pretty inflammatory eh, but then again fairly accurate if you judge the "Reality Based Community" by their own words.

Murray said, according to the Vancouver paper, that bin Laden has been "out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that."

"How would they look at us today if we had been there helping them with some of that rather than just being the people who are going to bomb in Iraq and go to Afghanistan?" Murray asked.
Ok maybe its not really fair to pick on hapless Patty Murray D-Wash. How about Common Dreams website archives is that fair game for a little look back at our brave Liberal Friends?

'War Is Not the Answer,' Pacifists Tell Their Fellow Mourners And so on Friday night, it was startling to see thousands of people pack Union Square Park for a candlelight peace vigil. To be sure, many came simply to mourn. But dozens wore fliers pinned to their backs that read: "Islam is not the enemy. War is not the answer." Some say they are terrified that U.S. military action will only spark more violent attacks against Americans. Others argue that the U.S. needs to reassess a foreign policy they believe has fed a hatred of America. Many admit to confusion about what the U.S. should do to respond to Tuesday's attacks, suggesting an international tribunal.
And then we have this clump of fun quotes from our liberal friends...courtesy of John Hawkins.

"In a situation like this, of course you identify with everyone who's suffering. [But we must also think about] the terrorists who are creating such horrible future lives for themselves because of the negativity of this karma. It's all of our jobs to keep our minds as expansive as possible. If you can see [the terrorists] as a relative who's dangerously sick and we have to give them medicine, and the medicine is love and compassion. There's nothing better." -- Richard Gere
"I think it will take years before we can repair the damage done by that statement." -- Jimmy Carter on George Bush's use of the phrase "Axis of Evil"

And what was Jimmy Carters Democratic Convention baby sitter and all around hero of the Democratic party saying back in 2001? Here is Michael Moore dispensing some of that Liberal Courage, 9/11 was all our fault.

Will we ever get to the point that we realize we will be more secure when the rest of the world isn’t living in poverty so we can have nice running shoes? In just 8 months, Bush gets the whole world back to hating us again. He withdraws from the Kyoto agreement, walks us out of the Durban conference on racism, insists on restarting the arms race — you name it, and Baby Bush has blown it all.
And some more random courage from assorted liberals or as they like to be called, "Progressives".

"America, America. What did you do--either intentionally or unintentionally--in the world order, in Central America, in Africa where bombs are still blasting? America, what did you do in the global warming conference when you did not embrace the smaller nations? America, what did you do two weeks ago when I stood at the world conference on racism, when you wouldn't show up? Oh, America, what did you do?" -- Former San Francisco Supervisor Amos Brown on September 17.

"I don't know how you wage war against one person; it doesn't make sense. I can imagine a commando-type raid to capture Bin Laden, then a trial, with evidence, before the world court. But that would not address the vast global inequalities in which terrorism is ultimately rooted. What is so heartbreaking to me as a feminist is that the strongest response to corporate globalization and U.S. military domination is based on such a violent and misogynist ideology." -- Barbara Ehrenreich, The Village Voice, October 9, 2001
"Melt their weapons, melt their hearts, melt their anger with love." -- Shirley MacLaine on her anti-terrorism policy
"Well, he (Bush) might as well have been bombing Denmark. Denmark had nothing to do with 9/11. And neither did Afghanistan, at least the Afghanis didn't." -- Gore Vidal in the LA Weekly

Soooo then what is it that the liberals are bitching about? Being quoted accurately?

It might be a bit easier to simply imagine a completely new meaning to what Karl Rove said. After all think of all the possibilities if you simply attach new meanings to words. Here is the News Blog trying some of that Newspeak on us.

Rove said: "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers,"

News Blog responds: I hope 9/11 families and the survivors remember this, as well as those with family members serving in combat.

Are liberals channeling speeches from a Karl Rove in an alternate universe or is this just unconscious projection of their views? How else to explain that response to that quote?

Remember how that turd Pataki sat there and laughed while Karl Rove stood there
and insulted New York. Notice how Mike Bloomberg won't say dick either. While
your sons are fighting and dying in Afghanistan and Iraq, that little bastard
impuned their patriotism and service to their country.
Karl Rove insulted those in the military? Please explain how Karl Roves words can be morphed into insults against our military. It might be helpful to also explain when did the liberal/progressive coalition start defending the military and the police departments?

And from one of the Liberals formost spokemen Daily Kos comes this tidbit of spin. Liberals don't hate the Military and those who work to defend our country right?
The GOP is flopping around trying to play the denial game on Rove's New
McCarthyism. Rove didn't mention Democrats they say. Oh really?

What was it that Kos had to say about those in Iraq defending this country by working with the military?
That said, I feel nothing over the death of merceneries. They aren’t in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them.
You liberals are pretty funny. Keep giving us some laughs with your girlish protests regarding your virginity. You have been attacking the defense of our country since the beginning and Karl Rove merely took you to account for it. If you are really as concerned as you feign about this country then take the words to heart and examine whether or not you are actually helping the enemy. President Roosevelt would have been a good deal harsher with your idiocy had you existed in WW2.

Captains Quarters is all around the issue
Michelle Malkin naturally is smacking them around.

Finally these are European Leftists but I bet that the further we dig into this story the more US Leftists/Progressives we will find and that will mean that Karl Rove wasn't harsh enough by a country mile. See Captains Quarters story on European Leftists/Progressives funding the Terrorists.
