- A Common Man Looks at the War on Islamic Terror -

Freedom and fear are at war.
The advance of human freedom the great achievement of
our time, and the great hope of every time now depends on us.

Our nation this generation will
lift a dark threat of violence
from our people and our future.
We will rally the world to
this cause by our efforts,
by our courage.
We will not tire,
we will not falter,
we will not fail. George Bush 9/20/2001

What the enemy believes
We are not fighting so
that you will offer us
something.
We are fighting
to eliminate you.
Hussein Massawi,
a former Hezbollah leader.

Brilliant war reporting from a Non Reporter...via Blog.
UPDATED BELOW
Michael Yon former Special Forces current
free lancer reporting on the bravery and heroism that the Mainstream Media decided doesn't exist, is a national treasure. If you haven't been keeping track of this very brave man's single minded pursuit of the truth about the fight in Iraq then you are missing some of the best reporting around. He is self funded. Just last month the call went out from friends that Michael needed a new camera because the old one was damaged and donations were needed to keep him going.

To imagine that he took this photo with a camera that was on its last legs just goes to prove that it ain't the camera, its the guy pulling the trigger. The story behind this photo gives lie to those who claim that the terrorists in Iraq are "Freedom Fighters". They are terrorists first and formost and deserve nothing less than death or life behind bars anything less leads to this story "Gates of Fire" where Lt Col Kurilla an American Hero gets shot by someone we had already captured then let go after the Courts found him not guilty.

And so it goes in this war of survival where we catch and release terrorists so they can get another chance at our hero's. Where we allow Iran to murder 241 Marines in Lebannon, ship weapons into Iraq, and forment revolution with nary a penalty. Where we know exactly where the weapon dumps are in Syria but refuse to blow them up because they are on the wrong side of a border. That both of those borders are borders of nations being run by lunatics who support and finance the murder of US Civilians and US Servicemen seems to mean nothing to those charged with protecting this nation. Our politicians worry more about the latest poll than protecting us. But then again if we as a people cannot be motivated to be upset and interested enough to be educated about these threats then politicians can take the easy road of making no decision.

As Roosevelt declared back in the day when the American People knew enough to be interested in their nation: "We are now in this war. We are all in it--all the way. Every single man, woman, and child is a partner in the most tremendous undertaking of our American history. We must share together the bad news and the good news, the defeats and the victories--the changing fortunes of war." Franklin D. Roosevelt December 8, 1941

Those words ring true today and it would behoove our marvelous President to remind everyone from time to time that all of us are in this fight.
Captain's Quarters: "We need to change our way of thinking to a war footing and understand that when we let these lunatics go free, we're paying for the same real estate twice or more, and the price we pay are commanders like Lt. Col. Kurilla."

UPDATE: BLACKFIVE Lt.Col Kurilla's condition. Soldiers Angels is on the job, ARE YOU??? DONATE! Get up off your fat ass and give till it hurts...we have hero's out there having to fight hand to hand to allow all of us to live safely back here. The very least you can do is donate. Here is another terrific charity you can donate to..the Valour IT Project also being run from Soldiers Angels.

Thanks CAPTAINS QUARTERS for the mention regarding Valour IT
