- A Common Man Looks at the War on Islamic Terror -

Freedom and fear are at war.
The advance of human freedom the great achievement of
our time, and the great hope of every time now depends on us.

Our nation this generation will
lift a dark threat of violence
from our people and our future.
We will rally the world to
this cause by our efforts,
by our courage.
We will not tire,
we will not falter,
we will not fail. George Bush 9/20/2001

What the enemy believes
We are not fighting so
that you will offer us

We are fighting
to eliminate you.

Oops Paris Riots Apparently burning down Jewish Schools is the most effective way to protest lack of jobs
Exactly what the correlation is between Jewish Schools and a lack of jobs for those frustrated youths, whose religion we must not mention, has not been determined. And given the average Imam's, from the religion that must not be named, penchant for fantasy politics there is probably no way to ever figure it out. But it will be fascinating to read both the left and right side of the blogsphere attempt to explain why those poor disadvantaged youths needed to burn
Jewish schools to make the point. Are those evil Zionist School Children stealing away valuable jobs?

Interpreting these riots as simply a protest against the racism of France was always gonna be a hard sell to me simply because my memory extends past the start of the riots. To those of us who remember, we remember all the Synagogues burning, the school children attacked and the women raped as being telltales of the violence and prejudice in France that permeated not from the French but from the Muslims who are driven mad if one Jew draws a breath a half a world away.

Google is my friend. For instance take a look at this 2003 BBC report on a Jewish School being, oh my, coincidently Fire bombed in Paris. Consider this bit:

The government has now launched a new campaign against anti-Semitism in the wake of an arson attack on a Jewish school in a Paris suburb at the weekend.

Mr Chirac announced a £4bn urban regeneration programme, to be targeted at predominantly Muslim areas of French cities, where there's been a sharp increase in anti-Jewish sentiment and regular attacks - both verbal and physical - on Jewish school-children.

Most attacks come from young disaffected Muslims, mainly of north African origin, who live side by side with the more established Jewish communities in the suburbs
Holy Smokes what a set of coincidences that is eh? Well at least they were honest about who was actually committing the criminal acts. Something they would not be able to do when those attacks started getting a lot more serious. Take a look at this Synagogue attack and notice that they are still a bit honest. Thank god for small favors.
Tuesday, April 23, 2002 Synagogues burn as Europeans rage In recent days, one synagogue in Marseille, France, has been doused in gasoline and burned to the ground; another in Lyon, France, was damaged in a car attack; a third, in Brussels, was firebombed; and a fourth, in Kiev, was attacked by 50 youths chanting, “Kill the Jews,” who then beat up a rabbi

What an amazing set of coincidences? Firebombing, those angry youths, attacks in Brussels and chants of "Kill the Jews". Wow nah the current riots are not about Religion because its never been about religion. What might be very interesting is to look at the Press coverage when the Brown shirts were stampeding through Germany. Was the Press honest about the Brown Shirts desire to, wow the coincidences never cease, "Kill the Jews". Some were, but where did the MSM stand on the issue? Is that why the Nazis were able to round up so many because no one had any idea of what was coming or did everyone simply not take them at their word? The Islamic thugs have been very plain about their aims...are we again ignoring the threat because to acknowledge it is to understand that our war is much larger than we first imagined?

Finally a word about the Blogsphere. It is tempting no doubt to highlight the poor coverage that the press is providing this story, but it is only a side story...not the story. Yet a small portion of the Blogsphere never seems to want to pass a chance to denigrate the Press even if it means devoting less effort to the actual story they are accusing the press of not covering properly. Irony is not just a British talent.

Religion, Don't Mention It The Brussels Journal
Captains Quarters has some terrific balanced coverage of the riots.
Count on Roger Simon to have a realistic view of the implications
No Pasaran as always has a slightly more caustic view of the failure of France.
Well I have more than a mere 5 questions but thats a good start over at IRIS Blog.
Finally Little Green Footballs isn't gonna let anyone get caught by surprise.
