For way too long we have allowed those who are not merely mistaken but on the other side to have a voice in the debates about the war without any push-back from a President who for the longest time merely sat by and allowed them their say. The problem with that theory being that if you repeat a lie often enough and loud enough without anyone saying, BUT!, the lie becomes the truth. I am a strong advocate of allowing even the dingiest of the dingbats plenty of audience for their theories, the more rope theory. But when you do that a response is always required...you cannot sit by and hope that the people will catch the lies and remember statements made years ago.
