Going after the news media is entertaining and probably should be done if only to keep them honest. On the other hand it could be argued that all of our efforts at exposing the lies of the MSM in the past year has allowed them to come out of the closet, take off the gloves and really go after the President. Sure they are pissing away their credibility but perhaps our mistake is believing that pissing away their credibility is to them such a terrible price to pay for stopping President Bush. Perhaps to the enemies of our country losing the MSM is small price to pay in their quest to destroy President Bush and so weaken us tremendously in our war.
We are fighting a two front war on one side are the appeasers who range from leftists who believe that the US is the center of evil no matter who is in office, to the cowards who would rather cross the street than stand up for their rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and the bigots who see Zionists underneath every rock and behind every tree. On the other side are the Islamofacists whose idea of bliss is living under a 7th Century religion where all freedom is crushed under the boot of a child molesting, highway robber masquerading as god. The Press is on the side of the first bunch by and large, though some of them have sympathies with the second.
But right now instead of tilting at the windmill of trying to bring down the edifice of the MSM we need to make sure that the meme does not develop that those leakers/traitors are "only" whistle-blowers. We need to hold the Bush administrations feet to the fire to make sure that wherever the investigation goes the result will be prosecution of the guilty. Remember that Sandy Berger got a slap on the wrist. Remember that the Able Danger folks got shut down. Remember that whatever else President Bush may be his first allegiance seems to be to protect the government from being discredited.
To be done right now. If the Government does not know who the leakers are then our Counter Intelligence guys need to be fired. If President Bush was actually surprised by the leaks that is proof enough that our Counter Intelligence people are either stupid or in on the game of destroying the President. If either is true naturally we need to fix this pronto.
Counter Intelligence is the crux of our intelligence apparatus as they are responsible for our knowing that all those involved in our most secret projects actually are loyal. Without that assurance we have absolutely no idea if the intelligence we receive is reliable. It is their job to stop leakers, since leaked information finds its way to our enemy.
Macsmind is right on point, as would be expected of a former intelligence officer, when he repeatedly reminds us that what the leakers did was against the law. Now the question is will President Bush prosecute those responsible? Macsmind apparently has word that President Bush wants some heads to roll. Given how long damaging leaks have been happening either President Bush isn't serious or he does not have the ability to catch those responsible. Either of those scenarios is very unhealthy for the United States.
