- A Common Man Looks at the War on Islamic Terror -

Freedom and fear are at war.
The advance of human freedom the great achievement of
our time, and the great hope of every time now depends on us.

Our nation this generation will
lift a dark threat of violence
from our people and our future.
We will rally the world to
this cause by our efforts,
by our courage.
We will not tire,
we will not falter,
we will not fail. George Bush 9/20/2001

What the enemy believes
We are not fighting so
that you will offer us
something.
We are fighting
to eliminate you.
Hussein Massawi,
a former Hezbollah leader.

Appeasement, Mohammed Cartoons, Instead of a Fight, Free Press goes out with an apology
If this is how the great free press machine of the United States goes down then we simply don't deserve to have a free press. The Mainstream Media have gone out with an apology instead of a fight. Whimpering the entire way like the sissies we began to understand they were just a short time ago.

The Mainstream Press like the coward bullies that frequent school yards and "alpha males" that frequent men's style magazines are only brave when the penalty for bravery is harsh words. As soon as the stakes got raised to the possibility of death and dismemberment priorities changed from being a Free Press to a thoughtful press, a caring press, a press that feels your pain, gets your angst, walks in your shoes. The free press in the United States put on their Identifying marks required by Islam of Dhimmis even before they were officially asked. To voluntarily submit to oppression is the worst sort of cowardice.

Bravery is the act of being afraid and still acting. Our nation is going to have to relearn a lot of lessons about morality, courage, honor and other virtues before we can expect to win this war against those who represent the opposite of all those values. Islam is the antithesis to all of those virtues and because it is so absolutely opposed to them we cannot win without upholding those virtues in their highest forms.

Our press wouldn't be such a collection of cowards if we all were the brave souls we think we are. Our nation as a whole is not corrupt but we have gotten lazy, wanting to put reasons for bravery out of sight. We have cheapened bravery and heroism by making such idiotic statements as some such sports star is a real hero. Or that movie star is so brave for making that movie, usually said about a movie showing some corruption of morality.

We are not lost though because when we see about true bravery we stand in awe with our mouths agape. When we saw the firemen run into the WTC we saw bravery in one of its highest forms. After all who knew better the possibilities inherent in rushing into the WTC than those men and women. That is bravery. We all need to get some.
