- A Common Man Looks at the War on Islamic Terror -

Freedom and fear are at war.
The advance of human freedom the great achievement of
our time, and the great hope of every time now depends on us.

Our nation this generation will
lift a dark threat of violence
from our people and our future.
We will rally the world to
this cause by our efforts,
by our courage.
We will not tire,
we will not falter,
we will not fail. George Bush 9/20/2001

What the enemy believes
We are not fighting so
that you will offer us
something.
We are fighting
to eliminate you.
Hussein Massawi,
a former Hezbollah leader.

An Army of Davids or how we answer the most crucial question of all in this war!
That being how do we deal with a global media that absolutely loathes the United States. It would be nice if the Media was irrelevant but it is not. It would be nice if we could just shut the doors of those outlets of the media that weren't merely wrong but on the other side, but we can't. Somehow shutting the mouths of our enemies would be a glorious thing but I suspect that won't happen soon.

In the end it will be the same person responsible for winning this war that has always been responsible, the guy or gal looking back at you in the mirror in the morning. We will be the counter to the fountains of misinformation that is the product of so much of the America Hating Media. What we do about the foreign media is a topic for another post. heh.

If you are reading blogs you are fighting against the misinformation put out by a virtual 5th column of citizens (journalists) so upset about losing all the major philosophical battles of the 20th century that in spite they intend on bringing the US down. If you think me harsh then please read
this article by Ralph Peters a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who served in infantry and intelligence units before becoming a Foreign Area Officer and a global strategic scout for the Pentagon.

This book, an Army of Davids, by Glenn Reynolds one of the fathers of the Blogsphere may show us the way out of the corner we are boxed into. I am preordering mine today and you probably should to. The war will be won by us, not by them, meaning that waiting for someone else to understand the issues, waiting for someone else to frame arguments against those issues and waiting for someone else to push our politicians to respond to the threats will be waiting too long. If not now when? If not us who? Seize the day! We are all Sheepdogs these days, look forward to the enemy standing up in front of you.
