- A Common Man Looks at the War on Islamic Terror -

Freedom and fear are at war.
The advance of human freedom the great achievement of
our time, and the great hope of every time now depends on us.

Our nation this generation will
lift a dark threat of violence
from our people and our future.
We will rally the world to
this cause by our efforts,
by our courage.
We will not tire,
we will not falter,
we will not fail. George Bush 9/20/2001

What the enemy believes
We are not fighting so
that you will offer us
something.
We are fighting
to eliminate you.
Hussein Massawi,
a former Hezbollah leader.

Islamic reaction to Christian convert...Religion of Peace?
Updates for clarity, posting after drinking is unwise kiddies.

So then, what exactly was it that we expended so many lives and treasure for in Afghanistan if it was not the chance for Moderate Islam to shine? Didn't we throw out the Taliban because they encouraged extremism? Is this new Afghanistan our vision of moderation? Sort of getting tired of being right but I must say that for sometime it has struck me as dishonest the constant statements by our Government that Islam can be moderate. Sadly this charade continues...it must stop.

Have held through thick and thin the hypothesis that Saddam had a
collaborative relationship with terrorists of all stripes, not only Al Qaeda. Believed long ago that we had blown it by allowing Saddam so much time that was able to move the WMD's. Wished that the opposition in this country wasn't so beholden to those on the left whose idea of a innovative thought is the most outlandish sorts of conspiracies they can think of while in the grips of Bushhitlerhatred.

The Paris Riots started the process where I finally understood that we are not only at war with Islamic Radicals whose attacks are obvious enough to counter philosophically. No, we are also at war with another group inside of Islam that is almost as dangerous as the Islamic Radicals, the Islamic Moderates.

It is one of the central tenets of Islam that it is the duty of every Muslim to help Islam become the One Religion to Rule them. If one were comparing the strategy of the two groups one might have to give the advantage to the moderates. Consider for a moment that had 9/11 not happened much of our alarm about Islam would be shouted down as bigoted hate speech. If there were such a thing as a central command for Moderate Islam, it would not be far-fetched to imagine the Chairman of Islamic Revival being quite upset by the Radicals waking us up to the danger by blowing up half of NYC.

If some of you have been imagining that we can live in peace with Islam you might be dissuaded from that belief by this rush to murder a simple man for the crime of leaving Islam. Now by implying that we cannot live in peace with Islam certainly I am not advocating anything more than a fierce philosophical war. A War where we give no quarter in regards to protecting our rights. In Europe they are giving their rights away willy nilly in a vain attempt to appease this ravenous beast called Islam. Give it a fingernail it wants a finger, give it a finger it wants a hand, give it a hand it was the entire body to paraphrase Oriana Fallaci's mother. Btw if you have not read Fallaci's "The Force of Reason" you do not understand the extent of the threat we face. Here and here and here lies more ammunition with which to fight that which threatens the West and which if the truth were spoken would be known as the longest running battle between two cultures. Hat tip: Little Green Footballs.

We are winning the fights on the battlefield and all the while refusing to fight on the most important battlefield, the philosophical battlefield. To avoid the sort of all out warfare that all of us want to avoid because of the innocents who will be caught in the middle we must win the philosophical battle. To win we must start fighting, to start fighting we must do away with the idea that to criticize religion is beyond the pale.
